Why should I use your Diapers?

We make all of our diapers using the highest quality materials available. We make them in our shop located in Scappoose Oregon. Our diaper covers are also made there by us. Made in Oregon with pride.

We use 100% cotton on all our diapers. They are also prefolded. This means they have a thickness of 2-6-2 which means ther are 2 thinknesses of cloth along each side and 6 layers in the center. When folded it make 10 layers of absorbancy.

Isn't a Diaper Service more costly?

The simple answer would be no. But the important answer is that in the long run they are less expensive to use then disposable's. Disposable's will be in the landfill for hundreds of years and this means that when your kids have kids and so on they will still be in the ground causing pollution for generations.

The cost can be broken down this way?

If you use  our service for a new born you receive 70 diapers to begin with. The cost is $18.75 per week which breaks down to .26 cents per diaper. Disposables are around the same price but the cost on the environment is considerable. Disposables will put aproximately 40 lbs of refuse in the landfill per week. Now figure that your baby will be in disposables for 36 to 42 months, thats a total of 6270 pounds of diapers in the trash!

Your baby's health and future has no price limit!

Do I have to rinse out the diapers?

No we do that for you. All you do is drop them in a plastic bag  provided to you . We ask that you don't rinse or wash the diapers as we have a laundry procedure we follow for optimum cleaning.

When your child gets older and starts eating solid foods the poo will be solid and we ask the you just flip it into the toilet (the poo not the diaper) and then put it in the bag.

I have heard cloth diapers are also bad for the environment. Is this true?

No this  also is not true. Proctor and Gamble did a study back when they first started promoting the use of their Disposable product. This study showed that washing diapers used so much water that cloth would be more ingurous to the environment then the disposables. The use of cloth provides and eco friendly way of diapering your child. Yes water is used. Water is also re treated in water waste facilities and goes through a process that  cleans and allows the water to be reused again and again

By using disposable instead of eco friendly cloth diapers your child will be contributing aproximately 4000 pounds of waste in the first year. If your child used diapers for say 3 years thats about 10,000 pounds in the landfill.

What kind of soap do you use?

We use a non-phosphorous liquid detergent that is also biodegradable and hypo-allergenic.

How do the diapers stay on the baby?

With our cloth diapers you will need to use a diaper cover. These are sold by us or you can buy them on your own. The diaper covers come in many sizes allowing you to get the perfect fit for your child. There are no pins to stick baby or yourself. You just lay the prefold in the cover and use the hook and loop tabs to close it.

We recommend 3 covers to begin with. These have a layer of waterproof material that can be wiped clean and used over and over before you need to launder them.

How much does your service cost?

We recommend 70 diapers per week  for a newborn for the first month. The cost is $18.75 per week. We require a 4 week up front payment to get service started. After the first month the cost will be determined by how many diapers you actually use and will be billed monthly unless you choose a weekly plan.

When will you deliver the diapers?

We will deliver the first batch 1 week before your due date. The next delivery will be on the same day as service is started. We will try to make each delivery around the same time every time. If you are not going to be home you can set the bag on your porch. Please make sure they are  safe from animals if you set them out the night before.

What about the inclement Oregon weather?

If it is just a rainy day we will be on our regular schedule. If by chance there is snow or ice and it is to dangerous we will call you to make an arrangement for a later in the day delivery or possibly the next day. The bag that we pickup and deliver in will be water proof so there in no worry about that.

We do ask that you keep your walks free of snow and ice not only for your safety but that of our delivery driver also.
